Nature Safari – The Hidden Animals of the Wadden Sea
A family tour where, equipped with nets and buckets, we go hunting for “The Five Small Ones” together with the nature guide. We search for lugworms, bristle worms, mud shrimp, brown shrimp, and some of the large crabs. It will be wild, educational, and fun. Please note that the tour is conducted in English. It may be a good idea to bring an extra sweater.
We explore the hidden animals living beneath the seabed in the Wadden Sea National Park. We find lugworms, mussels, snails, and crabs, and discover just how rich life is in the landscape that is drained twice a day at low tide. In fact, there are no natural areas in Europe with a higher density of animals — and what fascinating animals they are! Some “graze,” others “scrape,” and did you know that the common whelk is actually a true predator? A great trip for the whole family.
Practical information:
- Meeting point: Sønderballevej, Ho, 6857 Blåvand. Drive to the first parking sign, where the tour begins.
- It is most fun barefoot, but rubber boots can also be used.
- The tour will only take place with a minimum of 6 participants.
- Please note that dogs are not allowed on the tour.
